MARSHFIELD (WAOW)--Officials at two Wisconsin regulatory boards are seeking to discipline a former Marshfield doctor who is accused of having sexual contact with patients while they were under sedation.

After reviewing a complaint filed by the Department of Regulation.. the Medical Examining Board found probable cause that Doctor Kevin Lang committed actions which constitute unprofessional conduct.

According to the complaint, a female patient reported that Lang touched her inappropriately while she was recovering from sedation in March.

Also according to the complaint, Lang acknowledged the incident when confronted by officials at Marshfield Clinic where he worked.

After that, the gastroenterologist surrendered his hospital privileges, reported his conduct to the MEB and sought immediate treatment.

The complaint says Lang later disclosed that he had committed 11 acts of sexual misconduct against patients between 2003 and 2007 as they went in and out of consciousness following their procedures.

Lang is not currently working as a physician.

Marshfield Clinic has set up a dedicated phone line for patients concerned about the allegations in this case.

The number is 715-221-6606.
