MADISON, WI (PRESS RELEASE) - Summer has turned to fall and that means Badger hockey is just around the corner. With that comes the announcement of game times for the Culver's Camp Randall Hockey Classic/U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Games.
Outdoor ice hockey comes to historic Camp Randall Stadium for the first time on Saturday, Feb. 6. The defending NCAA champion Wisconsin women's hockey team will drop the puck at 2 p.m. when it faces off against Bemidji State. Following the women's game, the men's team hits the ice against Michigan at 5 p.m. The men's contest will be shown live on the Big Ten Network.
The men's game will be the second played outdoors by the UW's men's hockey team in recent memory. The team skated to a 4-2 victory over Ohio State at the Frozen Tundra Hockey Classic/U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game on Feb. 11, 2006. The Frozen Tundra Hockey Classic took place at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis.
For the women, the game will mark the first-ever outdoor contest for the UW hockey program.
