WAUSAU (WAOW)-- A loss in state aids means homeowners in the Wausau District will pay more in school taxes.
The district needs to collect nearly 41-million dollars in taxes for the 2009-10 school year.
That's up from the previous year, due to a loss in state aids. Wausau School District Finance Director, Cherna Gorder says, "For the Wausau district we say a $3.9 million dollar loss compared to last year."
Gorder says for homeowners, the net mill rate would be $855 dollars on a $100,000 home.
If you're home is worth $200,000 she says the total is $1,710.
