UPDATE: Eau Claire Fire Dept. says no to burning Favre gear at halftime
EAU CLAIRE (WKOW) -- If you were planning on heading to Eau Claire Monday night for the Packers game to burn your old Favre gear, you may want to rearrange your plans.
The Eau Claire Fire Department says the Milwaukee Burger Co. can only burn one Brett Favre Packers jersey. Others turned in will be donated to the Goodwill. The restaurant will still donate $10 to charity for each Favre item brought in.
EAU CLAIRE (WKOW) -- A sports bar will be burning Brett Favre memorabilia at halftime during the Green Bay Packers-Minnesota Vikings game.
The Milwaukee Burger Co. says patrons can bring in their Favre jerseys, pictures, posters and memorabilia and toss them into the barrel. The bar plans to donate $10 to an unspecified charity for each piece burned.
Manager Julie Kolk says the bar and grill is full with about equal numbers of Vikings and Packers fans on any Sunday during football season.
Kolk says Vikings fans probably won't have a problem with burning Favre's Green Bay jerseys and other gear.
The Packers play the Vikings in Minneapolis on Monday, October 5.
