ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Milwaukee Brewers manager Ken Macha will be back for a second season in 2010.
General manager Doug Melvin announced before Sunday's regular-season finale that Macha was being retained. The club holds an option for 2011.
The Brewers are 79-82, dragged down by injuries after being one of the NL Central favorites.
Interim pitching coach Chris Bosio and bullpen coach Stan Kyles will not be offered contracts at this time, the team said, but will be candidates for coaching positions in the organization. The Brewers have openings for a Triple-A pitching coach and advance scout.
Macha had a career record of 447-362 in five seasons, and won the AL West with the Athletics in 2003 and 2006.
