LITTLE CHUTE (WAOW) -- A soldier from Little Chute died Monday in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan.

The family of Army Sargent Nickolas Mueller says he died in the chopper crash that claimed a total of 10 American lives.

He was a member of the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment Airborne.

Mueller graduated from Little Chute High School in 2002, where he was voted homecoming king.

David Botz, the Superintendent of Little Chute Schools says "Nick certainly came back after he was in the military a couple of times, would stop and see us, very proud of his uniform, very proud of the decision that he was part of the military. So some of our staff have been hit by this pretty hard, yes."

Mueller's parents say he always wanted to be a fighter pilot.

He joined the Army after graduating high school and served 2 years in South Korea.

He was on his 3rd deployment.

Mueller's parents say he will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery.

91 Wisconsin military members have died since the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan began.
