Wisconsin connections to Fort Hood


FORT HOOD, Texas (AP) -- Officials say the alleged gunman who killed 12 people and wounded 31 others in Texas at Fort Hood was an Army psychiatrist set to be shipped overseas. The Army first said that Maj. Nidal Malik Hassan had been killed. It later said he was shot four times and is in critical condition. Hassan is a 39-year-old from Virginia.

Wisconsin Connections:

Lisa Pfund of Random Lake says her daughter, 19-year-old Amber Bahr, was shot in the stomach but is in stable condition.

Wisconsin state Rep. Kitty Rhoades of Hudson says she received a text message from her son there, an Army captain, saying he's OK.

A Wautoma family has a daughter and son-in-law at the base.
