Racine nurse among victims of Ft. Hood shooting rampage

RACINE (WKOW) -- A Racine nurse is among the victims of the shooting rampage at Fort Hood Thursday.

The uncle of 51-year-old Russell Seager told the Wisconsin State Journal his nephew was a nurse practitioner in the primary care area at the VA Medical Center and a teacher at Bryant & Stratton College, both in Milwaukee.

According to published reports, Seager left Milwaukee in August to begin preparations for deployment to Iraq. Seager joined the Army Reserve about four years ago and had pushed for deployment.

In an interview with radio station WUWM in August, Seager said "I've always had a great deal of respect for the military and for service, and I just felt it was time that I stepped up and did it." (Click here to link to the full story from Milwaukee Public Radio)
