MARATHON COUNTY (WAOW)--Santa made stops at local breakfast events this morning. He greeted children at the Shriner's all-you-can-eat breakfast in Wausau and the Teddy Bear Breakfast in Rothschild.

At the Shriner's event, volunteers were cooking up eggs and sausage for a good cause. There was holiday face painting and tunes to set the giving mood. Proceeds go to Shriner's Hospitals for Crippled Children. The Hospitals helps people like Nick, who was told he'd never walk again. The event was held at the Masonic Center in Wausau.

Santa also went to the Teddy Bear Breakfast in Rothschild. The Festival of Trees event offered a variety of family fun.Clowns entertained, volunteers painted faces and kids made their Christmas requests in an extra-special way. Ariana Mueller talked to an elf on the telephone.

"I was talking to the elf and she told me 'Merry Christmas' and she asked me what I wanted for Christmas. I told her Webkins, a hamster and I told her Mario Kart DS game," says Mueller.

Proceeds from the sold-out event benefit Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. Tomorrow the Festival of Trees will host a family buffet at 10AM. It all takes place at the Stoney Creek Inn in Rothschild.
