Wis. police to arrest man in domestic shooting

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Police in Madison say they plan to arrest a 38-year-old who allegedly opened fire on his girlfriend and their two children.

Police say Donte Beasley was drunk when he started a confrontation with the 42-year-old woman in the duplex they share on Madison's southwest side early Saturday. Investigators say he used a handgun to shoot the woman and the children, a 7-year-old boy and an 8-year-old girl.

The mother ran to a neighbor's home and called police despite being shot multiple times. Officers found Beasley in the duplex with self-inflicted cuts to his neck.

All four were taken to a local hospital. The children and their mother are in stable condition. Beasley remains under police guard.
