(STEVENS POINT) - Twelve different Pointers had at least two points on Friday evening as the UW-Stevens Point women's basketball team used a balanced effort to defeat the Norse of Luther College 79-51. The win by the Pointers snaps a two game skid heading into the semester break.

In the second half, the Pointers continued stayed in control, holding the visiting Norse to just 8-of-24 from the floor (.333), pushing the advantage to 31 several times down the stretch for the nonconference victory.

Britta Petersen (Luck) led the way for the Pointers with her second double-double of the season, recording 15 points and adding 10 rebounds while Josi Schultz (Eau Claire) was the only other Pointer to score in double figures, recording 10 points in 12 minutes off the bench.

Luther's Camille Stenhaug led all scorers with 28 points.

UW-Stevens Point will take the next two weeks off for the Holiday break before returning to action on Dec. 28 in action against Concordia (Wis.) at the Land of Magic Classic in Orlando, Fla.
