LINCOLN COUNTY (PRESS RELEASE)--  The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office is seeking information on several day time burglaries that have taken place in the last two days. On Monday January 18, 2010 residents on or near County Rd Y north of Tomahawk came home to find their homes had been entered by force and ransacked. It appears the thieves were looking for cash and jewelry. On Tuesday a resident just outside of Irma came home to find a similar crime had taken place. In total five such burglaries have been reported as of Tuesday evening.

Anyone who saw any suspicious activity in these areas the last two days, or if you have information on the crimes are asked to call the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department at 453-5747 or 536-6272. Tips may also be phoned into Crime Stoppers at 536-3726 or 1-800-222-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward.

Residents are also asked to be extra vigilant. If you see any strange activity in your neighborhood; call the sheriff's office at once to report it. Information on Neighborhood Watch Groups is also always available at the sheriff's office.
