STEVENS POINT (WAOW) -- A new wave of technology is coming to schools in Stevens point.
Thanks to a $6 million grant through the Sentry Foundation, high school students and teachers will receive new laptops.
Pacelli high-schoolers can use the computers for school work and get homework assignments from teachers. They're all loaded with specific software for school use.
"The goal is to have all the teachers have their own space on the network so they can load assignments, provide information to the students, get assignments, and post the assignments on their space so the students can look at those anytime they want to," said Principal Jeff Brengman.
Students will give back their computers each summer so the software can be updated.
Laptops will be handed out at the other schools in the area next week.
