Man pleads guilty in overdose death of Wis. teen

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (AP) -- A 23-year-old Whitefish Bay man has pleaded guilty to three felonies in the drug overdose death of a 15-year-old high school student from Whitefish Bay.

Matthew Laughrin pleaded guilty Thursday in Milwaukee to second degree reckless homicide and two drug charges in exchange for prosecutors recommending a maximum of a 12-year prison sentence.

Prosecutors say Laughrin and his father, Richard, dumped the body of 15-year-old Whitefish Bay High School student Madison Kiefer on a friend's driveway after a night of partying.

Laughrin's father was sentenced to two years in prison in December after pleading no contest to a charge of child abandonment.

WTMJ-TV reports toxicology tests found Kiefer had several drugs in her system, including two which are commonly used to treat heroin addiction.
