DULUTH, Minn. (AP) -- Aaron Bendickson had a goal and two assists Friday as second-ranked Wisconsin beat ninth-ranked Minnesota-Duluth 5-2 in a game between front-runners in the tight Western Collegiate Hockey Association.

Wisconsin (15-6-4, 11-5-3) entered the night tied for fourth place, two points behind the conference-leading Bulldogs (16-10-1, 12-6-1) and a point behind Denver and St. Cloud State, which also played Friday.

The Badgers outshot the Bulldogs 52-19 to move into a share of the conference lead.

The game was tied 2-2 after one period. The Badgers' Brendan Smith broke the tie midway through the second period. Bendickson added an empty-net goal with less than two minutes left and Blake Geoffrion scored at 19:17 of the third.

Kenny Reiter made 47 saves for the Bulldogs and Scott Gudmundson turned aside just 17 shots for the Badgers.
