TOKYO (AP) -- Toyota Motor Corp. says it has received 77 complaints in Japan over brake problems with its popular Prius hybrid.
Toyota spokeswoman Ririko Takeuchi says the complaints involve the new Prius model, which went on sale in Japan and the U.S. in May 2009. She says no accidents were involved in the complaints.
She said Thursday that Toyota has also received eight complaints in North America, including one in Canada, over brake problems with the new Prius model. She declined to give further details.
