MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Wisconsin is gearing up for outdoor hockey on campus.
Wisconsin's women play Bemijdi State on Saturday afternoon, and the men face Michigan immediately afterward in the Camp Randall Hockey Classic. The event is expected to draw more than 50,000 fans to the football venue built in 1918.
It's the Badgers' first outdoor hockey game in Madison since it played outdoors regularly in 1935 before the program disbanded until 1963.
Wisconsin's men's team played outdoors in 2006 when the Badgers beat Ohio State in the Frozen Tundra Classic at Lambeau Field, but only one player remains from that team.
Temperatures for this year's event are expected to be in the upper-20s and drop to a low around 10 degrees, but no snow is expected.
