4.3 magnitude earthquake shakes Northern IL, Southern WI
WISCONSIN (WAOW) -- A mild earthquake shakes Northern Illinois and could even be felt in parts of Southern Wisconsin.
The Chicago area earthquake registered at 4.3 magnitude quake.
According to the Chicago Tribune, the U-S Geological Survey reported the 4.3 magnitude quake just before 4:00AM about 45 miles west of Chicago.
The shakes were felt over a wide area, but there are no reports of damage in the Kane or DeKalb County areas.
Residents in the Saint Charles area say their whole houses shook. In Napperville, dishes rattled in the sink. Those people say the shakes lasted about 5 seconds. Newsline 9 will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
