#3 Wisconsin men's hockey team beats Minnesota State 8-4
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Blake Geoffrion had two goals and an assist and Brendan Smith and Andy Bohmbach added a goal and two assists each as Wisconsin beat Minnesota State, Mankato 8-4 Saturday in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.
Thirteen players scored points for the Badgers (18-7-4, 13-6-3 WCHA), who were outshot 35-31. Brett Bennett had 31 saves, while Minnesota State's Austin Lee and Phil Cook combined for 23 stops.
Geoffrion, Ryan McDonagh and Smith scored on the power play. Wisconsin was 3-for-8 with a man advantage and Jake Gardiner scored shorthanded.
Kurt Davis had a goal and an assist and Kael Mouillierat added two assists for the Mavericks (12-16-2, 6-14-1).
