Authorities: Wisconsin. woman stabbed self, blamed man
SHEBOYGAN (AP) -- Sheboygan County authorities say a 25-year-old woman stabbed herself in the palm with a knife, then falsely accused a male acquaintance of attacking her.
The man, 24-year-old Jason Makar of Random Lake, was arrested last week and briefly charged with two felonies before authorities dropped the charges two days later. Assistant District Attorney Joel Urmanski now says Makar was not present when the stabbing occurred, and that the wound appears to be self-inflicted.
The woman, who lives in Adell, told police she and Makar had dated. He says that's untrue, that they were casual acquaintances through an ex-girlfriend of his and that he hadn't spoken to her in more than a year.
Authorities intend to charge the woman with obstructing an officer, a misdemeanor.
