(WAOW)- The State Alpine Skiing Championships continued on Monday afternoon at Mt. LaCrosse. Some of the best locals completed their meets, including Rhinelander's Grant Olson who finished 15th in the Men's Slalom. On the girls Giant Slalom, Wausau East's Brianna Krieg took 34th place and 35th for the meet overall. On the girls Snowboardercross, Olivia Wendt from DC Everest finished second and tied for second for the meet. Rhinelander's Amy Babcock finished also tied for second for the meet for the snowboarders. On the boys side, DC Everest's Nathan LaPorte finishes 3rd for the meet, and Wausau West's James Parks took 20th on Monday in the Super G and finished 18th overall for the meet.
As for the teams, the DC Everest boys took third place overall in snowboarding. The West boys took fifth in skiing, and the East girls were the top local in skiing placing 18th overall.
In men's junior college basketball, UW-Marathon knocked off UW-Richland 93-67 in the Wisconsin Junior College state tournament. The Huskies play next on Wednesday.
