Middle school kids toboggan to get fit

WAUSAU (WAOW) -- The NFL and The Wisconsin State Dairy Council are helping students at a local middle school stay active.

Kids at John Muir in Wausau who sign up for the Fuel up to Play 60 initiative receive cards and get them punched when they're active.

Shepherd and Schaller helped the school buy these toboggans to provide the kids with a fun way to stay active.

Every time they make a trip up this hill the kids get a hole punched in their card.

Completed cards are eligible for prize drawings.

And the students agree being fit is fun.

Cassandra Knudsen says, "They get more exercise, they do really fun stuff. Sitting on the couch, watching TV doesn't make it more fun. Get out and play, it's fun."

The students are competing against 36 million other kids nationally to make healthy changes in their daily lives.
