Three Lakes referendum passes by 3 to 1 margin

THREE LAKES (WAOW) -- Leaders in Three Lakes are pleased taxpayers showed overwhelming support for the school district's referendum.

It's the third referendum in a row that taxpayers have supported.

The referendum was approved by a three to one margin allowing the school district to exceed the state imposed revenue limit by one and a half million dollars.

District Administrator Dr. George Kipling says, "I wasn't surprised that it passed. I was surprised and very happy that it passed by a three to one margin, but I had heard nothing but positive comments about the referendum throughout the whole time so I felt very good about it."

Taxes will increase $22.33 on a hundred thousand dollar home for each of the next three years.
