EDGAR (WAOW)--Time to gear up for the spring election now that the primary is in the record books. In our area, a number of school referendums get the thumbs up from voters.
School leaders in Edgar ask residents for $7.6 million for some building renovations. The referendum passed with 53% voting yes. The measure will renovate existing parts of the school and build two additions to the building. The Superintendent says they'll start building this summer.
"We are going to take about a week to recuperate and give our architect a chance to get a timeline together. And then our next school board meeting is on March 8th and we'll start the process of saying what we need to get done. We'll do two week intervals and get a plan of attack and then have at it!" says Superintended Mark Lacke.
School leaders plan to convert their west gymnasium into an auditorium. That will give more room to fine arts programs to practice. The project is expected to take 2 years to complete.
