MADISON (AP)-- It's hard to believe given all the snow and cold, but it's almost time to start removing ice fishing shanties from Wisconsin waters.
State Department of Natural Resources regulations require anglers to remove all shelters from Wisconsin-Iowa boundary waters by February 13.
Shanties on Minnesota boundary waters must be gone by March 1. Shelters on Michigan boundary waters must be off by March 15.
Elsewhere, unused shelters must be removed daily by 11:59 p.m. beginning March 7 for waters south of State Highway 64. Shelters north of the highway must be removed daily by 11:59 p.m. starting March 15.
