Zion Lutheran Church announces organ dedication

WAKE UP WISCONSIN (WAOW)--  Zion's new, Kegg organ (built by Charles Kegg company of Hartville, Ohio), will be dedicated at Zion Lutheran Church this weekend.

Dr. David Heller, Professor of Music at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, and the man who will be playing Zion's new organ at the dedication, came on Wake Up Wisconsin to talk about the event.  He has served as Zion's organ consultant for our new organ project.

The organ will be dedicated at Zion's at 9:00 AM during Sunday's liturgy.  There will then be a Dedicatory Concert later on Sunday at 3:00 PM.  Dr. Heller will play at both events.

Dr. Heller is a native of Wisconsin (Fond du Lac), having grown up at Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church there.

Church leaders are eager to present this organ, not only as an instrument for their church's worship, but also as a gift to the musical community of Wausau.  Already, the local chapter of the American Guild of Organists will hold their Lenten recitals at Zion in order to utilize this new organ.
