Foremost farms to expand with Marathon County's stimulus money

ROTHSCHILD (WAOW) - The Foremost Farms plants in Rothschild and Appleton will expand.. thanks to stimulus money provided by Marathon County.
The process involves Marathon County allocating $11.6 million dollars.. all of which is transferred to Outagamie County and combined with their funds.
This results in at least $9.5 million dollars in improvements at the Rothschild plant.. as both sites benefit.
Brad Karger/Marathon Co. Administrator: "We're not anticipating any job growth in terms of the actual Foremost plant here. But we are solidifying that plant for the future. Currently there are some 75 jobs there, good paying jobs, above median income. We're glad to see the reinvestment, glad to see those jobs preserved.
The Appleton plant produces whey.. then it's shipped to Rothschild for the pharmaceutical industry.
Marathon County had until March first to use its stimulus money.. then it would've been added to the state pool.
Karger says it's unique for counties to work together.
Karger:"Actually we can't take any credit for it, the Foremost Farms people actually put together the coalition, put together the alliance of governmental entities and really help them see that they were stronger supporting each other rather than going independently."
