Plans to improve Central Wisconsin Airport take wing

MOSINEE (WAOW)-- Plans to remodel the terminal at the Central Wisconsin Airport move forward.

In a meeting Friday, airport board members crafted a resolution supporting plans to expand the existing terminal and rework parking areas over the next 15 years.

Airport leaders have been mulling over the plans to build a new terminal since 2007. However, airport manager Tony Yaron says that affordability is key so they devised a phased project that makes use of the existing terminal. "In Concert with meetings with the FAA we developed a staged plan so that we could afford what it is we need to do over time, over that 5-15 year period and still meet the needs of the demands of the passengers."

The resolution now heads to the Marathon and Portage County Boards for approval.
