UPDATE: Department of Corrections to hold press conference

Madison (Press Release) - Wisconsin Department of Corrections Secretary Rick Raemisch will be holding a press conference at the Stanley Correctional Institution to provide information about the two inmates who were released under fraudulent conditions.

Joining him at the press conference will be Stanley Police Chief Roy Fredrickson, Chippewa County District Attorney Jon Theisen, Stanley Mayor David Jankoski, and Stanley Correctional Institution Warden Jeffrey Pugh.

Stanley (WQOW) - A press conference could help answer some questions surrounding a corrections breakdown at the Stanley Prison.

The Department of Corrections says a press conference will be held at the prison Tuesday afternoon.  Stanley Police Chief Roy Fredrickson says the investigation is still ongoing, but the DOC is ready to discuss some aspects of the case.

In January, two inmates were released using false documents.  One of the inmates, Jimmy Baldwin, is a convicted killer who's serving a 73-year sentence.  False documents shortened that to 20 years.

The other inmate, Eddie Evans, was in prison for armed robbery.  False documents reduced how long he was scheduled to be under extended supervision from 13 years to one.  After serving time in Wisconsin, Evans was supposed to be sent to a prison in Louisiana.  A second false document eliminated that.
