School in Kenosha locked down after gun report

KENOSHA (AP) -- An elementary school in Kenosha was under lockdown Tuesday and students were eventually bused to a high school after reports of a masked man with a gun.

Multiple students at Edward Bain School of Language and Arts reported seeing a man with a gun. No adults reported seeing the suspect.

The school was immediately locked down, and police blocked off streets.

Students were put on buses and taken to Bradford High School, where parents were allowed to pick them up. Kenosha Unified Superintendent Joe Mangi says he believed it was safer to have all of the students out of the building while police conducted a room-to-room search.

No gun or suspect was immediately found.
