Racine trucker pleads not guilty in stabbing death

CHICAGO (AP) -- A Wisconsin truck driver has pleaded not guilty in the fatal stabbing of another Wisconsin trucker last month on the shoulder of a Chicago-area expressway.

Tandra Simonton, a spokeswoman for the Cook County State's Attorney's office, says 48-year-old David Seddon of Racine pleaded not guilty Wednesday to first-degree murder in the death of 40-year-old Allen Lauritzen of Sparta, Wis.

Authorities say Lauritzen suffered two stab wounds to the chest in a Jan. 15 fight on the shoulder of the Edens Expressway near the Chicago suburb of Northfield.

Prosecutors say the two were quarreling over CB radio when Seddon began tailgating Lauritzen's truck. They say the two pulled over and began a physical fight, during which Seddon stabbed Lauritzen.

Seddon is being held without bond and is scheduled for a status hearing March 22.
