MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (AP) -- Seniors Tony Lucia and Mike Carman scored two goals apiece as Minnesota routed Wisconsin 6-1 Sunday in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association finale.
The Golden Gophers open the WCHA playoffs on Friday at North Dakota while second-seed Wisconsin plays host to Alaska-Anchorage.
Both of Lucia's goals were on the power play for the Golden Gophers (17-17-2, 12-14-2 WCHA). One of Carman's goals also helped Minnesota go 5-for-8 with a man advantage.
Carman had two assists and Lucia another. Jacob Cepis added a goal and an assist, and Mike Hoeffel and Cade Fairchild had two assists each.
Nick Leddy had a power-play goal.
Michael Davies scored the only goal for Wisconsin (22-9-4, 17-8-3).
Minnesota's Alex Kangas made 26 saves, and Wisconsin's Brett Bennett stopped 22.
