MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A legislative panel considering whether to expel Rep. Jeff Wood has set a date to hear testimony from the plan's only sponsor.
Rep. Steve Nass, R-Whitewater, is expected to testify in favor of Wood's expulsion when the special ethics committee meets on March 16.
Committee members say they were upset that Nass did not show up to a public hearing on the plan last week. They say they have questions for Nass, and Wood and his attorney should have the ability to cross-examine him.
Nass says he was never invited to last week's hearing and was tending to family matters at the time. He says Wood should be expelled because his three arrests for driving under the influence show repeated bad judgment and brought disrepute on the Legislature.
