ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- The WCHA has placed four players among the top 10 finalists competing for the 2010 Hobey Baker Award presented to college hockey's best player.
WCHA members Denver and Wisconsin each have two players in the running. From the Pioneers, the nominees are senior forward Rhett Rakhshani and junior goaltender Marc Cheverie. The Badgers are senior forward Blake Geoffrion and junior defenseman Brendan Smith.
The other finalists are New Hampshire senior forward Bobby Butler; Maine sophomore forward Gustav Nyquist; Northern Michigan junior forward Mark Olver; Rensselaer junior forward Chase Polacek; Miami of Ohio sophomore goalie Cody Reichard; and Cornell senior goalie Ben Scrivens.
Three finalists will be announced on March 31. The Hobey Baker winner will be announced April 9 in Detroit during the NCAA Frozen Four.
