Murley's evaluation deems him proficient

by Meg Bonacorsi

WAUSAU (WAOW) -- Despite what some may call a rocky year, school board members say Wausau Superintendent Steve Murley is doing a good job.

Murley was rated proficient in his annual evaluation for 2009.

School board members ranked Murley in several categories.

One being the lowest, 4 being the highest.  Murley received a 3 or higher in each category.

Comments and suggestions were also made.

Murley's improvement is usually tracked annually, but not anymore.

School Board President Dale Lawson says, "Something new that we're going to be doing with this evaluation tool is starting a quarterly evaluation tool, kind of a mini revue every quarter, to stay a little more in tune with what is happening currently."

The board president says Murley's evaluations have been pretty comparable the past 5 years he's held the position.
