BEAVERTON, Ore. (PRESS RELEASE) — Wisconsin Stevens Point head coach Bob Semling has been named the 2010 Molten/DIII News Coach of the Year, the publication announced today in its April issue.
Semling led his Pointers to a 29-4 overall record and the 2010 Division III national championship. He becomes the second coach from the school to capture the honor. Jack Bennett was the 2004 recipient.
"Winning a national title takes an outstanding effort from the first day of practice to the final buzzer in March," said DIIIN Editor Gary Rubin. "Bob did a great job with his team this season, first going through a tough conference schedule and then running the table in the tournament. We are pleased to award him for his achievement and hard work."
Semling will receive the coveted Molten Gold Trophy ball to recognize his award.
