Rep. Jeff Wood's toxicology report

MARATHON COUNTY (WAOW) -- Authorities in Marathon County have released toxicology results from the DUI arrest of Chippewa Falls lawmaker Jeff Wood in September.

Police who arrested Wood say he appeared to be under the influence of drugs.

Two prescription sedatives and two anti-anxiety medications showed up in the toxicology report.

The test also showed the presence of an over-the-counter cough suppressant. Wood had eight times the recommended dosage in his system.

"The adverse side effect of that is it can give you some dizziness and light headedness. People have been known to use that to get high off of by taking it in large quantities," said Dr. Larry Gordon of Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

It's unclear why the level of over-the-counter cough suppressant was so high in his system.

Wood has been arrested three times for DUI since December of 2008.

He has said he won't run for re-election this fall.
