By Sean Giggy

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Senior guard Jessica Waldvogel had 20 points, including a long 3-pointer to force overtime, as Wausau West beat Middleton 53-48 in a Division 1 WIAA girls quarterfinal Thursday night.

The Warriors (23-4) fell behind 21 seconds into the game and trailed all the way until Waldvogel's dramatic shot from about 26 feet out with 13 seconds left.

West took its first lead when Courtney Falk hit two free throws for the last of her 13 points 1:10 into the 4-minute overtime period and didn't trail again.

Waldvogel went 4-for-4 from the foul line in the final 18 seconds to seal the victory.

Rachael Eklund had 15 points and fellow junior Kerry Gardner added 13 for Middleton (22-4), which had its 11-game winning streak snapped.
