Richard P. Pingel, age 68, Bowler, died on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born on October 15, 1941 in the Township of Morris, Shawano County, the son of the late Roy and Marie (Olson) Pingel. On September 25, 1995, Richard was united in marriage to Kathleen Kingdon in Shawano.
Richard was a United States Army Veteran serving from 1961 to 1964. He was employed as a welder at Case, Drott and Glover's Manufacturing and also farmed in the town of Almon. He enjoyed his pets but especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife Kathleen, Richard is survived by four children, Kristine (Dave Kurszewski) Pavlovich, Wittenberg, Richard Pingel, Bowler, Patrice (Jim) Devine, Schofield and Kathy (Ted) Hahn, Weston; two step-children, Michael (Victoria) Buelow and Michelle (Paul) Deininger, both of Weston; 13 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his former wife; Joyce Uren, Schofield; siblings, John Pingel, Bowler, Carol (Lyle) Hull, Wittenberg, Roy Jr. (Karen) Pingel, Waukesha and James Pingel, Lake Station, IN.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a brother, Robert and a sister, Margaret.
The Funeral service will be held at 3PM on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Schmidt-Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg. The Rev. Clifford Kessen will officiate. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, town of Almon, Shawano County. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 1PM until the time of service at the funeral home.
