Doyle among Gov.s who received extremist letters

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A spokeswoman says Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle is among the governors who have received letters from an anti-government group calling for him to leave office.

Administration spokeswoman Carla Vigue says the governor's office received the letter Wednesday. She says the governor's security detail is aware of the letter and closely monitoring his safety.

Federal authorities say more than 30 governors have received the letters saying if they don't leave office within three days they will be removed. A group calling itself the Guardians of the free Republics sent the letters.

Vigue says there's no actual threat of violence in the letter, but the FBI is warning the group's call could provoke violence by others.
