Man charged in choking case

MENASHA (AP) -- A Menasha man is accused of helping his stepson and two other boys participate in a choking incident.

Winnebago County prosecutors say 43-year-old Joseph Lango also took part in the so-called choking game and even tried choking one of the boys.

Deputy District Attorney Tracy Paider says the boys were 12, 13 and 14. Paider says they were trying to get high from choking, a risky behavior which can result in death.

Lango is a registered sex offender, but none of the charges are sexual in nature. He's facing two counts of second-degree reckless endangerment and two counts of strangulation.
