Good Friday blood drive

WESTON (WAOW) -- A Weston church puts its faith into action remembering Christ this Good Friday in a unique way.

This is the third annual Good Friday Blood Drive at New Day Christian Church Office.

Good Friday is the day Christians all around the world remember Jesus died on the cross.

Pastor Aaron Winowiski says, "He made a sacrifice so that our sins could be forgiven and we could have new life. He gave his blood to save our lives and we thought that a good way to remember that is to give people the opportunity to give their blood to save other people's lives."

Winowiski says Good Friday tends to draw a lot of first time donors who never gave blood because of fear. He says when they remember what Jesus went through that fear seems less significant.

Their Easter Service is at 10:00 a.m. in  the DC Everest Middle School auditorium. Click here for more information on New Day Christian Church.
