Red Cross babysitting clinic teaches valuable skills
by Colby Robertson
WAUSAU (WAOW) -- Some area teens spend their spring break learning valuable babysitting skills.
The one day course offered by the American Red Cross is seven hours long. Kids learn everything from first aid to leadership.
Annette Krautkramer, Red Cross Babysitting Instructor, says, "We go through leadership skills and then we go through the business of babysitting, doing a resume for example, doing business cards, who we should and who we shouldn't give them to."
Students don't get certified in CPR but they do learn basic rescue skills like rescue breathing and bandaging.
If you're interested in signing your child up for a future babysitting class contact your local American Red Cross.
