MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Corey Hart's sluggish spring with the Milwaukee Brewers could open the door for Jim Edmonds to start on opening day.
Hart still expects to be the starting right fielder when the Brewers face the Colorado Rockies on Monday. His name has come up in trade rumors, but general manager Doug Melvin says his roster is all but set barring injuries.
Hart was hitting .123 in the spring with two homers and five RBIs, while the 39-year-old Edmonds had a .273 average, two homers and 12 RBIs.
But Edmonds also has been resting a sore hamstring and manager Ken Macha says he wants to be cautious so they don't lose the veteran for a long period.
