Soldier killed in motorcycle crash

KENOSHA, Wis. (AP) -- A soldier visiting his children in Kenosha was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed the bike into a concrete median and metal pole.

Police say James MacCrutheras, 34, was apparently speeding when he lost control of his Yamaha motorcycle Tuesday afternoon.

His mother, Pat Gloriosa of Kenosha, says her son wasn't wearing a helmet and "never had a chance."

The Kenosha News reports MacCrutheras joined the Army in September 2005 and was soon to leave for Afghanistan.

MacCrutheras graduated from Menomonee Falls High School in 1993.
