ROTHSCHILD (WAOW) - Within the past two years, Wausau Homes employees were hit by two waves of layoffs.  Now the company infuses new energy with a grand re-opening.

The business celebrates fifty years and expects to hire back positions as it unveils a business model the presidents say can handle the ups and downs of the economy.

In front of local VIP guests, the company also confirms its commitment to the area.

Wausau Homes Co-President Jay Schuette: "We have such a powerful new vision that's going to develop into a marketing brand where we deliver on a promise to take out the typical stress and anxiety in the new home-building process. And we're going to increase the opportunity to become more a part of the fabric of this community. Not just by hiring people, not just by creating income for the employees of this organization but also our civic-mindedness that my parents have left us a legacy that now we're going to continue."

As part of the grand re-opening, visitors toured the Rothschild plant.

From now through the Fourth of July, Wausau Homes will donate $2000 from every new home purchase to Operation Homefront, which supports families of deployed troops.
