Obama: Palin 'not much of an expert'

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama says he'd prefer to take the advice from his defense secretary and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, instead of from Sarah Palin.

He was asked in an interview that aired today on ABC about Palin's criticism of his new nuclear policy. It includes a promise that if a non-nuclear nation is complying with an international nonproliferation treaty, the U.S. won't threaten or use nuclear weapons against it.

Palin told Fox News that the policy is "unbelievable." She says no other administration in U.S. history would have considered it.

But Obama says his defense chief and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs are comfortable with it.

And he says the last time he checked, "Sarah Palin's not much of an expert on nuclear issues."
