WAUSAU (WAOW) -- Saturday was a beautiful day for a stroll through Marathon Park. But for a lot of area kids, it was also a great day to get indoors at the park.
The East Gate Hall in was converted into a wonderland of sorts for kids in Wausau. It was the Marathon County Park Department Children's Festival, a chance for kids of all ages to get a little crazy and crafty.
Some chose to brush up on their putting, while others were more into artwork.
But the main attraction seemed to be the woodworking station, sponsored by the Wausau Noon Optimists. It gave kids a chance to get down and dusty.
"We were building wood and I made a car," said 6 year old Dylan Teske. "And then I built a table."
There were over 20 fun activities at the event sponsored by local businesses.
