ABBOTTSFORD (WAOW)--After nearly seven months in the Iraqi dessert, State Representative Scott Suder returns to Abbottsford. He left last September for active duty with the Wisconsin Air National Guard.

Representative Suder worked with the 115th fighter wing, training pilots for survival. While serving in the military, he continued his duties as a Wisconsin lawmaker.

"I worked nights while I was over there, which coincided with my legislative team working days. We were able to talk in real-time. We were able to use the Internet constantly. I was able to look at documents, look at legislation and I was able to talk to my colleagues on the phone. I wasn't able to vote because you have to be physically present to vote in the state assembly," says Representative Suder.

Suder jumps back into session this Tuesday. He says he'll focus on the economy and getting Wiscosities back to work. In the meantime, he can enjoy a couple of days with his new pet that he brought back from Iraq. It's a cat named Athena after the Goddess of war.
