March 18, 1945 – April 10, 2010
Margaret A. "Peggy" Dvorak passed away peacefully Saturday, April 10, 2010, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Peggy was born March 18, 1945, in Wausau to the late Sidney and Rose (Lenard) Riste. She married Ken Dvorak on October 12, 1963, at St. Annes Catholic Church in Wausau.
Peggy worked for many years at Wausau Insurance and Kmart, but devoted much of her life to her husband, daughters, grandchildren, family and friends. Her greatest joy was spending time at her home on Lake Wausau, where she greeted every visitor with open arms. Anyone fortunate to cross paths with Peggy was truly blessed by an extraordinary person – one that always carried a warm smile and tender heart. Our tears we have are for us, as we know that she is no longer in pain and truly in a better place.
Peggy also enjoyed cooking and baking – and always had something in the kitchen to satisfy your sweet cravings. Holidays were something special – especially baking and frosting cookies with her grandchildren. She always looked forward to the bi-annual garage sale with her close friends – and visited many other sales, as well! Her life was also filled with faith in God, pontoon rides, Florida beaches and Friday fish fries. To sum-it-up, Peggy loved life to the fullest and made sure others carried a piece of her love with them.
Survivors include her husband Ken, daughters Wendy (Bruce) Czech, Medford, and Tracy Nelson, Wausau; five grandchildren, Kyle and Katie Czech, Calli and Taylor Nelson and Morgan Milanowski; a brother, Stanley (Lorraine) Riste; a sister-in-law, Tuttie Riste; two brothers-in-law, Jerry (Corky) and Jim (Maggie) Dvorak; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Schmieden; brother, Dick Riste; and brothers-in-law Ronnie Dvorak and Duane Schmieden.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at Noon, Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau, WI. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until time of services at the church. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Cemetery
